The Origin
Time flies, and we’ve come to realize that the controller that’s been with us for so long isn’t just a gaming tool anymore—it’s like an old buddy that sticks with us through thick and thin.
Night after night, it’s been there as we explore gaming worlds, sharing our moments of joy and frustration. We kept wondering if there was something more we could do for our faithful companion than just keeping it in a display case.
Then one day, someone asked, “Aren’t metal controllers cold?”
Our first thought was, “If it’s cold, just dress it up!” After all, even an old friend needs a hoodie.
And that’s how this project was born.
Different from the Market
Most stands on the market are 3D printed – and they tend to be rough, light, and fragile (no offense intended). That’s why we use imported premium resin, the same material found in those high-end collectible pieces, to build our stand. Our version weighs 3 times as much as the typical 3D printed ones. After all, a stand should have a solid, substantial feel.
Craftsmanship
Secondly, we had to process the workpiece to be incredibly smooth and refined to achieve an exquisite finish.
Next came the style selection. We experimented with many designs, but deep down, one idea kept coming through: We wanted the look of Hajime Sorayama using plating techniques. (We didn’t get straight to the point because we was really worried about a high scrap rate.)
Still, We decided to move forward and deliver what I believed was the best result. We planned to use silver plating and also try gold plating inspired by the Gold Saint. Plus, the back of this stand is embedded with a magnet, leaving plenty of room for future design variations.
